Notes for Gustaf Fryxell
John’s biography says they left home May 10,1876, boarded the Orlando in Gothenberg on “June 12” (actually May 12), went to Liverpool in 42 hours, left Liverpool on the Celtic on “the 18th” and arrived in NYC “June 29”—actually May 29. (The Celtic didn’t land in NYC in June.) THe next day, when they got off the ship, was Decoration Day, which is May 30.
John appears as Johan Magnusson on passenger record of the Celtic, May 29, 1876, age 22 (transcribed as born 1834 instead of 1854)Gustaf is listed as “Gast” Magnusson, wrong age.
John’s bio says Orlando but Swedish emigrattion list says Rollo
